stub The Level Editor allows you to edit any of the levels present within the game, as well as allowing you to create your own. Currently, you can access it in Dev mode F2 by pressing F7 or entering it directly through the Main Menu. ==Controls== {| |o | = Grid quick-select |} {| | W | = Scale quick select |} deeee {| |E | = Angle quick-select |} {| | R | = Render quick-select |} {| | T | = Tile Menu |} {| | P | = Layer Properties Menu |} {| | A | = Rotate selected object. |- {| | SHIFT | + |S | + |Mouse Wheel | = Quick Scale |} {| | D | = Dynamic Settings Menu |} {| | F | = Reverse tile (Left <> Right) |} {| | G | = Goto (Quick zoom-out and allows you to select where to zoom in.) |- | L | = Layers Menu |} {| | Z | or |Mouse wheel | = Layer quick select |} {| | X | = Replace Tile quick-select |} {| | C | = Selects the shape/size from the tile category you chose with X. |} {| | V | = Full zoom-out |} {| | B | = Clipboard menu |} {| | N | = New (Create a new "local" (map)) |- | M | = Toggle mini-map |} {| | 1 | = Placement Mirroring quick-select |} {| |TAB |= Toggle menu visibility |} {| |Mouse wheel | + tile selected | = Resize tile |} {| |Shift | + |Mouse wheel | = Rotate selection |} {| |Ctrl | + | z | = Undo |} {| |Ctrl | + | c | = Copy |} {| |Ctrl | + | v | = Paste |} {| |Ctrl | + | a | = Select All |} {| |Ctrl | + | n | = Create New Map |} {| |Ctrl | + | o | = Open a Previous Saved Map |} {| | + | = Zoom out (num panel) |} {| | - | = Zoom in (num panel) |} {| |F5 | = Play level (Make sure you save it first! (Ctrl-S)) |} To move things between layers, select them, press L to show the Layer Menu, then hold Ctrl and click the destined layer. Things that cause errors: Lots of stuff. Most settings do not like being set to "0". In the newest version, there is a bug where you can't move with G (goto). It will just make the camera go to the center of the map. ==Changes== In version 104 Alpha, there are serval new features added to the editor, such as editing meta data, where you can change min and max players, author, the difficulity and if it is Work In Progress or not. In the file menu there are also new things, such as an easier way to show that you can test your level with F5 aswell as reloading or closing the edior. You can also access the editor using the menu directly. ==Dynamic settings== ==Opening Default Levels== When you go to the Open Levels window, you can only select one map from the default maps (dm_stormynight.map) or any other map you saved yourself. If you want to open all other maps that are used ingame, go to the folder where you saved Cobalt (default C:\Games\Cobalt\) and go to the folder maps. There are all maps in the game. Copy them into maps_dev and you can access those maps by closing and reopening the Open Levels window. Using this technique you could rename one of your maps to the name of a default map (e.g. dm_jazz.map), copy it into maps and play your maps (of course make a backup then). But this isn't required to test your maps sence you can press F5 to test them. ==Creating maps== To see more on how to create maps goto CreatingMaps
