== Organization of this page & Instructions == Please read this before making any changes to the page!
This page is devided into three categories: Confirmed Bugs
This is a list of every confirmed bug in the latest release of Cobalt (which is v106 Alpha at the moment). Do only post bugs into here when you are absolutely sure that the bug you are encountering is not caused by mods and that you are using the latest release of Cobalt. If you're unsure of an issue, it's good practice to post about it on the talk page to see whether others can reproduce it.
Unconfirmed Bugs
This is where you can report bugs you encounter in order to let others try to reproduce it. Please make sure to proofread your issue report before submitting it; unintelligible issue reports come off as inconsiderate and disrespectful.
Fixed Bugs
This is an archive for the bugs who got fixed in the past. == Confirmed Bugs == Menu Bugs *Audio spam will sometimes occur for unknown reasons, game must be restarted to stop the sounds. (This tends to happen with older/obscure sound cards) *If you go to the menu mid-gameplay and open the controller menu, it'll produce this: Image *Returning to the main menu from Testing Mode (F5) can cause the game to produce many bugs as follows: **Wait for game to return you to main menu, then press F7 then F5. Produces this: Image **After previous step, press F5 again: Image **From there, enter Testing Mode (F5) and press F6 and you can cycle through all editors. Graphical bugs begin to appear everywhere. Image **When you return to the editor from the main menu, more graphical errors. Image **You can also use the editor behind the menu. Image
Gameplay Bugs *If you throw any throwable on a booster pad (like in Space Zone), and you throw another one on the booster pad while the game is in bullet time, the second projectile will launch at an incredibly high speed and fly across the entire level. *Some of the bots twitch out if they are on an incline and you move above or below them ... they seem to get confused as to what direction they should move in and keep turning left / right / left / right (Pathfinding bug). *Overlapping graphics can cause a noticeable lensing effect. *Physics on security bots flip out when they shoot a railgun upwards Video. *In capture the plug, the bots would get the plug then run around in the enemy base without actually leaving it. *Many in-game SFX may be extremely quiet or entirely unheard, however this is not the case for all in-game SFX. *AI goes nuts if you do a deathmatch and everyone is on the same team. *There is no case for a tie in CTP/deathmatch, showing the first team to score as the winner by default. [Images: 1/2] *Punching birds (uncharged) sometimes cause the bird to get pushed back at projectile speed. *Rolling when a bird is touching you/on your head sometimes cause metalface to lose health regardless of any attack animation or delay. *If you aim at a stickgrenade's "spawn point" (with crouch or sneak) when a stick grenade is about to reappear, then it will aim at the stick grenade. Image 1Image 2 *Plugs can fall through the floor somehow . I'm not sure how it happened, but I was practicing grenade throws when it happened. The grenades might have rolled into to plug too fast to cause this or something. Image 1Image 2 **The usage of CCTV-like items (as displayed in Safest Gate) results in the picture not being correctly attached to the frame of the screen, and when changing resolution the size changes as well. *Anything moving at high speed will fall through girders. ANYTHING.
Other Bugs *Profiles, session data and other saved data can't be created when running the game in user-mode (ie: not admin mode). *When attempting to open a map in DEV MODE by clicking it repeatedly, the game will freeze and crash.
== Unconfirmed Bugs == * Some of the maps (mostly user custom maps) will crash the game when press the restart button. * Throwing a Flashbang on Klonk cause Klonk to explode, Flashbang will not flash, I`m not sure this is bug or just apart of the game. * In survival with x-box controller, I bought a matter pistol and for some reason I was shooting non-stop. *AI has a hard time going from the bottom area to the top area(Not the small platform) and vice versa on Blaster Ballet. They just go left and right, left and right. *If you spam weapon selection buttons while holding a plug causes Metalface to go backwards slowly. It seems he is supposed to throw the plug, but keeps on catching it. (if you run while pressing the weapon selection buttons, then Metalface throws the plug). Doing this while jumping against a wall can cause Metalface to hover in air and move upwards. *In the Missile Punching tutorial room with bullet time disabled, the game usually crashes and closes after 5-10 min, without any error message. (there is a windows message, but no game message. It might be because of my computer, and not the game). *Ninja's are partially invisible while they are standing in the spawn booth, when you play with shaders on. *In v102 the voodoo map causes a lua script error. *Opening the controller menu during bullet time causes the menu sound effects to become low pitched. (it will even continue being low pitched when leaving a match using the "Main menu" option in the controller menu.) *Rain sound effect continues in the main menu, when leaving a match using the "main menu" option in the controller menu. *Rain sound effect continues if the game window becomes inactive while the controller menu is up. *You can change Player health mid-game, by using the "Main menu" (in controller menu) and "return to game" option (in the main menu). (This can easily be used to cheat with highscores) *Bullet time will activate if the jet shoes' flames hits a bounce pad. *For some reason it is possible to pick up a weapon that then goes into your throwable slot.
== Fixed Bugs == as of v102 Alpha * Getting blown up by a bomb no longer screws up the next life. * Fixed crash with trying to join a controller with a removed preset. * Plasma assault upgrade names. * Fixed stage selection loading everything too early. * Shop windows could be outside of level. * Laser pointer getting smoke as laser pointer. * Fixed enemies being included in the aim over mechanic cause you to raise the gun above enemies instead of pointed against them. * Bounced and deflected projectiles now correctly generate bullet time. * Fixed left gas bouncer in position on windy valley. * Added repair broken weapon ai. * Fixed hanging cords gathering speed invisibly, making them jump like crazy when activated. This would often make them render incorrectly too. * Max upgrade level upgrades could be left in the upgrade bench. * Did some optimizations for larger scale actor and ai code which in practice should mean smoother fps at later survival tiers. * Fixed not being able to arrange bots into teams a second time without restarting the game. * Sound at volume 0 now actually doesn’t play the samples. Also, made the sound volume curve exponential so that it has greater precision at low values. * Strange rolling down wall and then not being able to slide up it again bug fixed. * Fixed buying weapon, buying upgrade, and then buying the same type of gun again. * Improved transition to main menu with transparent menu disabled. * Fixed upgrades not being buyable with many of the same gun. Still a bit iffy, but at least it works. * Added suicide distance ai to grenades. * Bots should not drop plug for the purpose of throwing it against projectiles now. * Hud elements are now adapted to screen resolution which fixes things like shops being outside of the screen. * Reload animations to shroom and bird. * Shroom not sticking to ground after punch anymore as well as wall climbing more reliable. * The switches for the doors on the survival maps are now only usable by players. * Fixed mouse being visible when it shouldn’t as of v101 Alpha *When in the shop (survival gamemode) go to the Esc. menu and then when you exit the menu, you will be unable to exit the shop until you're harmed. *Bots mysteriously freeze, but once hit they will once again animate and attack. *When any item falls into lava, it will bob around and float rather than despawn. *After opening a safe, no controls function but running left and right and using F[number]. *If you run to the right while your jumping and rolling, you go faster and faster and faster, to the left it wont work though. Video (v100 Alpha) *Launcher becomes unresponsive for a small while after logging in.
